Electoral Commission of Zambia – Job Advertisement: Technical Support Officers (TSO)
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is preparing for the upcoming Voter Registration exercise and invites qualified Zambian nationals to apply for the position of Technical Support Officers (TSOs) in constituencies across the country. This is a short-term engagement.
Position: Technical Support Officer (TSO)
Purpose of the Job
To provide first-level technical support to Voter Registration Officers in respective districts, ensuring the Commission meets its strategic and operational objectives efficiently.
Reporting Accountability
The TSO will report directly to the District Electoral Officer (DEO) in their assigned district.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain all components of Voter Registration Kits.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with computer operating systems and printers.
3. Perform weekly backups of Voter Registration data.
4. Ensure secure storage of Voter Registration Kits and backup data.
5. Provide additional technical support to field officers as needed.
6. Capture and update electoral spatial data using tools such as digitizing tables and GPS, adhering to ECZ data quality standards.
7. Submit accurate weekly reports to ECZ Headquarters on Voter Registration statistics and deployment plans.
Qualifications & Experience**
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Minimum 2 yearsof proven experience in ICT-related work.
- Must be a registered member of ICTAZ (Information & Communication Technology Association of Zambia).

- Tactful, diplomatic, and a self-starter.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
