Our client, an International trading and distribution company, operating five business verticals. Acknowledged for their truly outstanding performance globally. One of the verticals of trading being Auto distribution, our client would like to advance their vision as a preferred auto distributor.
They now want to fill a vital role of a Business Development Officer to add further value to their Lusaka. Kitwe and Ndola based dynamic teams. This opportunity is ideal for talented persons, keen to make immediate contributions and prove their caliber.
This position is responsible for managing the relationship with Clients as well as day-to-day management of the Supplier and Sales Department. The position reports to the Business Head. Key responsibilities include:
Contact the Client when receiving a potential lead from the dealer network.
Explain offerings and recommend products to meet the needs of the Client
Ensure applications, KYC and Financials are collected in a timely manner.
Follow up daily with Clients for outstanding documents.
Identify and assesses new market opportunities for asset finance within the Supplier.
Develop and maintain relationships with Clients and Suppliers with a view to gaining access to new Clients that are currently not AFCL Clients.
Discuss the general outline of any required asset finance such as the lending terms proposed (including pricing) with credit for Clients
Weekly and monthly reporting of deals work in progress, as well as portfolio performance.
Drive the asset processing process; from document collection through to obtaining signatures from relevant stakeholders.
Inform the Client on the result for the credit application. Approvals on facilities must be communicated through to the Client immediately. If the deal has been declined, renegotiate the deal with the Client.
Take all required documentation to the contract through to the Client for signature.
Provide support to all Clients, ensuring a high quality of after sales care and support to all new and existing AFCL Clients
Check in with Client on EW signals raised in the EW Dashboard and obtain clarity on the same from the Client
Desired Profile
Must have Credit management exposure
Must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Understanding of retail finance
Commerce or Finance Graduate
Between 4-6 yrs of experience (overall)
Relationship building
Communication &Interpersonal skills
Presentation skills.

Please note that the successful Ndola and Kitwe applicants will be engaged as sales consultants and a sales level agreement will be signed while the Lusaka based client will be engaged as a full time employee.
