Trade Kings Limited is a leading manufacturer of quality detergent soaps, household products, dairy products and confectionery. Its Head Office is located in the Lusaka’s Light Industrial Area along Nampundwe Road, Off Mumbwa Road. In its quest to maintain quality service delivery, the company seeks to recruit qualified highly motivated and goal-oriented professionals to fill the following positions.
1. Job Title: PET Machine Operator ( 5 positions)
Job Overview
To supervise and manage daily production activities at the PET plant, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and team performance across all shifts. The supervisor must have prior hands-on experience as an operator and be capable of independently operating all key machinery in the PET plant, including extruders, thermoformers, and crushers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Independently operate and oversee all core machinery in the PET plant including: Extruder Machines, Thermoterming Machines, HIPS/PET Crushers
Utilize personal operational experience to: Set and optimize machine parameters (temperature, RPM, pressure, sheet thickness, forming cycles)
Supervise and control shift-wise production activities to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets.
Continuously monitor process parameters to ensure stable, high-quality production with minimal waste.
Conduct first-level maintenance and technical troubleshooting to reduce machine downtime.
Lead and manage the shift production team including operators, helpers, and material handlers.
Allocate daily tasks and ensure adherence to shift plans and production schedules.
Uphold discipline, hygiene, and safety standards across the production floor.
Deliver hands-on on-the-job training to develop operator capabilities and reinforce operational best practices.
Coordinate timely execution of production as per daily and weekly targets.
Monitor raw material (PET, HIPS) consumption and availability; coordinate with stores or procurement to avoid shortages.
Maintain accurate shift-wise logs, downtime records, and machine performance data.
Analyze output, identify rejection and wastage trends, and implement corrective actions for reduction.
Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills
Diploma / DAE/ Technical Certificate in Mechanical / Plastics / Manufacturing Technology or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in operating and supervising plastic sheet extrusion and thermoforming machines (PET & HIPS material experience preferred).
Sound understanding of machine operation, basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
Strong leadership and team handling skills with good communication ability.
Familiar with production documentation and safety protocols.
Hands-on experience with all extrusion, thermoforming equipment.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Decision-making under pressure
2. Electrician (3 positions)
Job Overview
Work with the electrical maintenance team, ensuring safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance tasks.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
Maintain records of electrical maintenance.
Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills
Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
1 – 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
Strong technical and leadership skills.
3. Production & Supply Planner (1 position)
Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production & Supply Planner to efficiently coordinate production schedules and manage the supply chain to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing plans that optimize production output, maintain inventory levels, and support timely product delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products
Track daily production output and analyze data to identify process improvements
Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate procurement to prevent delays
Collaborate with the procurement team to manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
Utilize Excel to create comprehensive reports, forecasts, and inventory management systems
Conduct regular analysis of supply chain performance and recommend improvements
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and smooth workflow
Implement strategies to minimize waste and enhance supply chain efficiency
Minimum Requirements-Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience in supply chain planning, production scheduling, or related roles (Experience of 5+ years required)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis functions and tools
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Familiarity with supply chain management software and tools is an advantage.
4. Job Title : Quality Inspector (3 positions)
Job Overview
Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing incoming materials, participating in trials, and resolving quality issues in plants. This role ensures all packaging meets required standards and specifications to uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect incoming packaging materials (e.g., Corrugated Boxes, Mono Cartons, Labels, Woven Sacks Etc).
Conduct standard tests including Dimension, GSM, Bursting Strength, BCT etc.
Benchmark packaging quality using market samples.
Perform daily inspections of packaging processes.
Address and resolve packaging related quality issues at plants and incoming.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Update and maintain testing records and reports on a daily basis.
Verify process parameters against standard operating values.
Collaborate with Manager/supervisors to gather and analyze plants feedback and ensure timely closure.
Tag non-conforming materials with appropriate identification (e.g., HOLD, OK, REJECTION).
Participate in packaging trials with the plant team.
Adhere strictly to safety and quality standards.
Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills
Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, Packaging Technology, or a related field.
Experience in the plastic packaging industry is preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in packaging quality control.
Hands on experience with packaging testing methods and equipment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment.
Good physical condition.
High standards of punctuality, efficiency, and discipline.
Effective problem solving abilities.
Proactive in identifying and resolving quality issues
