BACKGROUND

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) is a statutory body created by the Energy Regulation Act No. 12 of 2019 to regulate Zambia's energy sector. The ERB is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Zambian national to fill the position of Driver based at its Head Office.

JOB PURPOSE

To drive an assigned institutional/ERB motor vehicle for the purpose of transporting personnel and/or materials to required destinations.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct pre-shift checks of the vehicle to ensure it is in sound operating condition and compliant with all road traffic regulations.

- Drive ERB staff, visitors, and other officials as directed.

- Assist inspectors during inspections when requested.

- Deliver and collect materials to or from specified locations.

- Report faults, defects, or accidents in accordance with the ERB Transport Policy.

- Alert the Head Driver when the assigned vehicle is due for service.

- Conduct minor vehicle repairs such as changing brake pads, oil, filters, and light bulbs.

- Keep an up-to-date vehicle logbook.

- Ensure the assigned vehicle is kept secure at all times.

- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively in English and write reports.

- Confidentiality.

- Etiquette.

- Computer literacy.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent (ZAQA verification required).

- Minimum SADC Driver's Licence (PSV).

- Certificate in Mechanics is an added advantage.

- At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a reputable organisation.

- Experience driving manual vehicles.

- ZAQA Verification of all academic and professional qualifications will be required.
